Tree Well Timber Sale (WA DNR)

Tree Well timber sale, scheduled for auction at the end of 2024 targets forests that originated in 1931 that are bursting with old-growth legacy trees. Unit two is directly north of an occupied Marbled Murrelet Nest Site. If this area is clear cut it would further fragment this rare habitat.

Parched Timber Sale (WA DNR)

The Parched Timber Sale, scheduled for auction at the end of 2024 targets a high-elevation primary forest, on a mountaintop above the Elwha River dam site. This forest originated after a fire in 1880 and has never been logged before. Unit 3A of this forest contains Whipplea modesta, which is a critically imperiled plant in the State of Washington

Dungeness and Dragons Timber Sale (WA DNR)

The Dungeness and Dragons Timber Sale will log a 100 year old forests on steep slopes above the Dungeness River in Clallam County. It is scheduled for auction in the fall of 2024.

Doc Holliday Timber Sale (WA DNR)

The Doc Holliday timber sale of Juan De Fuca highway west of Port Angeles contains dozens of massive Sitka spruce, Douglas Fir and Red Cedar trees over 5 feet in diameter. It is one of the DNR’s most egregious timber sales of 2024 and contains trees that are likely approaching 150 years in age. It is scheduled to be auctioned in August 2024

Salt And Pepper Timber Sale (WADNR)

The Salt And Pepper Timber Sale in Clallam County was originally scheduled for auction in April 2023 but has been delayed, this timber sale is home to massive trees up to 58 inches in diameter and appears to have never been logged before, it is home to Salal over 5 feet tall and is an impressive example of a later successional forest.

Power Station Timber Sale (WA DNR)

The Power Station Timber Sale in Clallam County is a Legacy Forest up for logging on Washington State Department of Natural Resource Trust Lands. The forest re-generated from logging in the late 1800s and is now over 100 years old. It, and all other legacy forests like it deserve protection, to get involved visit wlfdc.org
